Karen's Corner
About 6 years ago, a group of folks from
Hilliard UMC began to dream of what church might be like if they
could build one from scratch. How would individual and community
lives be changed if high expectations like attending worship,
being involved in a small group through the year, serving within
the walls and beyond the walls, and moving toward a tithe in
giving were established as “normal”? And if these leaders
were able to remain central in the leadership and guiding of the
community, how might we look and live different from all of the
other churches we pass daily? Let’s be honest: we give our lives
to what we value. What if we gave more of our lives to serving
God’s people through the church and beyond?
Warehouse 839 is the second congregation of
Hilliard UMC. We were 5 years old in April, 2008, and we are
looking to many more years of growing as authentic followers of
Jesus Christ sharing God’s amazing love for the transformation
of the world.
We know that no one is perfect and that we are
all on a journey toward God. The vision we believe God holds
before us is: God’s Unconditional Acceptance (Romans 8:39); Your
Unbelievable Growth (Acts 2:42); and Our Unlimited Outreach
(James 2:14-26, Matthew 25: 31-46).
Our purpose is to introduce or reintroduce God’s
amazing love to those not currently active in a church. As we
greet you with radical hospitality, we pray that you will be
lifted by our passionate worship services which have great
music. Our Pathways Team will help get you connected, and
together we’ll serve others with the love of Christ.
Warehouse 839 is a church for those who are
looking for something more, or who have been turned off or
turned away and know that God is still searching for you. We are
searching for you, and praying for you to come to Christ today. |
