-
the big picture story of God's relationship
with us and love
for us
-
the very readable new International Version
-
brief transitions to cover sections of the Bible
that The Story leaves out
-
the Bible presented like a novel (no book names,
chapter or verse numbers)
Resources are available

Got Questions?
-
Q: What if I get behind in
my reading? A: Don’t worry
about it — either skip some chapters and start
again, or just keep reading at your own pace. Just
keep reading. Life happens; most of us will get
behind in our reading at some point on this journey.
-
Q: Confused by something
in The Story? A: Ask a
pastor or other ministry leader (contact info listed
on Sunday worship folders & church website)...
Look up the passage in a good study Bible...
Listen for what the pastor says in Sunday’s message
about it...
-
Q: What if I still want to
join a Good Book Club after all? A:
Please do! Story discussion groups
will welcome drop-ins. List of groups
available at the Hospitality Table (in the
Sanctuary) or the Connection Center (at Warehouse
839) — just show up, or contact the host of your
choice. Or contact Beth Palmer, staff,
bpalmer@hilliardumc.org , 614.876.2403 (church
office).
-
Q: What extra resources
are included in The Story (adult version)?
A: There are discussion /
personal reflection questions for each chapter,
starting on page 473. There is a list of
biblical characters with a short description, in the
order we read about them, starting on page 489.
There is a chart of references: list of the biblical
passages included in each chapter, starting on page
495. And there are basic maps: inside front
cover (Ancient Israel) and inside back cover (New
Testament church).
