CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

Small groups are an essential part of living in Christian community and for our growth as disciples.  Below you will find listed groups that meet on a regular basis to share in fellowship and experiences.  The activities and timing will vary from group to group, but the common thread is sharing our lives in a deep and meaningful way to support and encourage each other in our walk with Christ.

Many of our groups are centered around Bible study.  Click on the link below to find the many offerings we have for studying the Bible and other materials.

HUMC Motorcycle Ministry

Photos from Last Ride:  There were 11 bikes on this ride and we rode the bridges of Union County as well as a couple other historic locations in Union County. We had lunch and fellowship at BW3's in Marysville before the trip back home. The ride was about 100 miles round-trip and including lunch and stops were out about 4 hours. Photos were contributed by several of the riders.

NEXT RIDE:  Our first Ministry outing will be this Saturday, May 10. We are going to attend the Special Olympics at Whetstone H.S. at the invitation of Grace Gerber. We will have 10 bikes there and will hand out a copy of the Gospel of John to any of the Olympians who come by to see us.  We are also going to incorporate lunch and a ride after the event.

Do you own a motorcycle and wish you had someone to ride with? Interested in getting together with a group of fellow riders on a regular basis to enjoy cruising and Christian fellowship?

A group of 8-10 riders (guys and gals) from HUMC got together in January to brainstorm on the possibility of starting a motorcycle ministry. We decided to start slowly and that we would meet monthly to share riding tips, experiences, etc. as well as plan a monthly group ride that would leave from HUMC following the morning services (during riding months).

If you ride and would be interested in joining this now-forming group of motorcycle enthusiasts, contact Dannie Pierce at dannie@warehouse839.org or feel free to attend our next group meeting.

Exercise, Inspirational Music, Prayer
Which caught your attention? If any of these topics strikes your fancy, you may be interested in joining TEAM F.I.T. (Faith In Training). This free one-hour class will help participants to develop some “holy habits” in their life while enjoying inspirational music with others. Objective: To develop both a physical (light aerobic and floor exercise) and a spiritual habit (prayer). The ultimate goal is to develop these habits as a regular part of our lives, as we learn that we should “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, (and) give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), and “devote (ourselves) to prayer” (Colossians 4:2). “Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!” Movement to express our joy in living, and to strengthen the body we’ve been blessed with, is combined with prayer. With a Team effort, we’ll help each other become more F.I.T. as Christians. Led by Donna McBride. Wear comfortable clothes and good shoes for aerobics; bring a mat or thick towel for floor work, 1-5lb hand weights (optional), and water. Meets Mondays and Thursdays starting Jan. 8, 5:30- 6:30 p.m. in the CLC.  Wear comfortable clothes for exercise!
